From St. Louis:

Take Interstate 270 to US 367 north and cross the Mississippi River to Alton, Illinois. When reaching the Illinois side of the bridge, turn left. Turn left again at the third light. You will be on the Great River Road (Highway 100). You will travel 12 beautiful miles down the Great River Road Scenic Byway, recognized by the US Government as one of the most beautiful stretches of road in America.

From Springfield and North:

Take US 267 or state road 3 to Jerseyville, Illinois.  Follow signs to

Grafton on Illinois 109 (8 miles), then Illinois 3 (8 miles).  Follow until the road ends at Main Street in Grafton.  Take a right.

Once in Grafton:

On Main Street, turn right at Tara Point Drive.  Keeping to the left, proceed up the concrete drive to the top. Prepare yourself for the most striking view in hundreds of miles.

Upon arrival, pick up your cottage or room key at our home (main building).  Drive to circle and ring doorbell at our double door entrance.

Above:  The River Road leading into Grafton as seen from Tara Point.  The ride to Grafton from St. Louis and south is one of the most pleasant you'll drive anywhere.  Although a comfortable road (The Great River Road is an under-used four-lane highway), it is nestled between the bluffs and the expansive Mississippi around the Great River Bend.  This stretch, through Grafton and north was recently designated a National Scenic Byway by the US Government.
